“UNITY IN MOTION: Plateau State Governor Mutfwang Joins APC in a Historic Show of Cross-Party Collaboration”

Plateau State is set to witness a historic moment tomorrow, January 27, 2026, as Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang officially joins the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a grand ceremony at Jos Polo Field. The event is expected to be a massive gathering of party faithful, civic groups, and dignitaries from across the country, including Vice President Kassim Shetima, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.

The Central Planning Committee, led by Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, has been working tirelessly to ensure a peaceful and memorable event. Governor Mutfwang's decision to join the APC is seen as a strategic move to promote unity, inclusive leadership, and development in Plateau State. His leadership has been praised as transparent, humble, and people-oriented, earning him cross-party respect.

The committee has appealed to residents to welcome visitors with hospitality and conduct themselves peacefully. Robust security arrangements are in place to manage the expected large turnout. The event is expected to mark a new chapter in Plateau State's history, with Governor Mutfwang's administration poised to attract large-scale infrastructure projects, create jobs, and improve security and living standards.

The governor's defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on December 29, 2025, and subsequent alignment with the APC on January 2, 2026, has generated significant interest and anticipation. The event is seen as a testament to the governor's commitment to the "Renewed Hope Agenda" and his determination to work with the federal government to drive development in Plateau State.
