Plateau State Ministerial Press Briefing Highlights Governor Mutfwang's Continuous Achievements in Various Sectors.

On the second day of its ministerial press briefing, the Plateau State administration presented its advancements in many areas. Key ministries gave presentations at the event, which took place on May 21, 2025, at the Ministry of Information and Communication's conference hall at the JD Gomwalk Secretariat in Jos.
Ministry of Works: Development and construction of roads and buildings have advanced significantly under the Ministry of Works. According to Dr. Joshua Ubandoma Laven, the Honorable Commissioner for Works, there is a lot of road construction all around the state right now. These initiatives promote interconnection within Plateau State, ease transportation, and support economic activity. Notably, several long-abandoned road projects in the city of Jos have been finished; some of these projects had been unfinished for more than ten years.
A New Era for Tourism, The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality Plateau has been effectively repositioned as a top travel destination by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality. The period under consideration was referred to as a "new dawn" for the Plateau's tourism industry by Hon. Cornelius Dongnaan Doeyok, Commissioner for Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality. *National Recognition*: Plateau earned "Most Outstanding Troupe" at NAFEST 2023 and was named "Most Innovative State" at AFAC 2023.
*Cultural Events*: The ministry has successfully hosted the National Soup Festival (2024) and "Art Meets Fashion," among other cultural festivals and events.
*Revenue Generation* Between May 2023 and April 2025, the ministry made N42.6 million from events, licensing, and registrations.
Youth Empowerment: Ministry of Youth and Sports Development. Through several programs, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has given youth more power. The ministry's initiatives to support youth empowerment and sports development were highlighted by Hon. Ibrahim Ashom, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development. Among the initiatives are
The ministry has enlisted 1,000 adolescents at BARC Farms under the PLA-YEAP (Plateau Youth Agricultural Empowerment Programme).
*Sports Development*: Plateau United FC improved from 17th to 10th place in the league, and the ministry helped the women's handball and hockey teams from Plateau compete in international contests in Egypt and Morocco.
During the Wednesday session, reports were also given by other ministries, such as Agriculture and Science and Technology. It is anticipated that the three-day ministerial press briefing will end on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
The occasion gives the Plateau State administration a chance to highlight its advancements and accomplishments across a range of fields.
