JULY 2023 ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION HELD TODAY 1ST JULY,2023 IN THE JOS- BUKURU METROPOLIS AMIDST LOW TURNOUT.

The Plateau State Governor His Excellency Barr Caleb Mutfwang on Saturday July,1st,2023 flagged off  the Plateau State Monthly Environmental Sanitation and Hygiene Exercise in some locations in the Jos- Bukuru Metropolis.


At the Bukuru Market,Mutfwang said his administration  will use persuasion rather force of law to have citizens not only participate but own the sanitation process.



In a brief press interview with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment,Engr Albert Chaimang and the General Manager of PEPSA, they frowned at the lukewarm attitude of some citizens who feigned ignorance of the sanitation exercise despite publicity.


Chaimang was unhappy with the low turnout but prayed that the next exercise should be better as better publicity and awareness campaign will be carried out.


Speaking on the challenges of the Committee set up by Governor Mutfwang to clean the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, Chaimang said broken down vehicles are their main concern.He told the press that two vehicles were got damaged due to burning and parking up respectively.


The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment promised to interact with major stakeholders before the next environmental sanitation exercise for a better outcome.
