I"ll continue to be a Voice for My Constituents- Rep. Lar

The Honourable member representing Langtang North/South Federal Constituency, Honourable Beni Lar has reiterated her determination to continually remain a voice for her constituents by speaking up for them in any circumstances.

The Lawmaker gave the assurance when she was featured on a TVC live programme known as ‘One-On-One.

Honourable Lar said, “I will continue to speak up for my constituents and ensure that they are empowered educationally, economically and socially. I will ensure that every child goes to school and remains in school.”

While describing her political sojourn so far, the Lawmaker said, ”it has been very interesting,” and attributed her victories to the trust the people have in her as well as the positive impacts she had made in her constituency.

According to the Lawmaker, her constituents felt the impact of her representation in the first year adding that, "Once the people felt the positive impact of a legislator, it became easier for them to trust that legislator and vote back such a legislator."

On her legislative sojourn so far, the Lawmaker said, "It hasn’t been easy for me as a woman. I had to work harder for my voice to be heard and to be taken serious. I thank God for enabling me to do a lot for my constituents."

Honourable Lar however, expressed joy that her constituents are feeling the positive impact of her representation in the National Assembly and assured that she will continue work harder to improve the living condition of her constituents by attracting development and federal government presence to her constituency. 

The female Lawmaker however, expressed optimism that one day a woman become the President of Nigeria assuring that then the lives of average Nigerians will improve because women are known to be good managers of resources.

Lar who is the Chairperson of the House Committee on Science and Technology applauded the Federal Government for improved funding of the sector stressing that improved funding has significantly helped in promoting local manufacturing of cars, solar panels, tricycles among others and called on Nigerians to encourage local manufacturers by patronizing the made-in-Nigeria products which would in turn help create job opportunities for youths. 

She described technology as the way to the future adding that "Technology is the way of the future and many countries have advantage of technology to grow their economy and Nigeria cannot be left behind. What we are trying to do is promote our own home-grown technology instead of being dependent on foreign technology.” 

Honourable Lar stated that the ban on importation of raw materials for local manufacturing had started yielding positive results as according to her, the Raw Materials Research and Development Agency had gone into partnership with companies in the country adding that the partnership has helped in boosting local manufacturing through the use of locally sourced raw materials.
