The Plateau State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Hon. Dan Manjang, has been chosen by Plateau youths affiliated with the APC Progressive Minds for Dan Manjang (PMDM) as Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda's running mate.
Pamela Ibrahim Takka, the group's founder, lauded Manjang as an example of humility and a diligent politician who will add political value to the APC ticket in the state during a news conference she gave on Monday at the APC State Secretariat in Jos.
In front of hundreds of young people from all 17 Local Government Areas, Takka asserted that the Information Commissioner is politically well-connected and qualified to give the APC the victory margin it rightfully deserves. This is especially true in Plateau North.
We are adamant that the APC's selection of Hon. Daniel Manjang as its deputy gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State has advantages because it will give the party a balanced ticket that will ultimately ensure electoral success in 2023. It still stands to reason that since Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda was chosen by our wonderful party, the APC, to run for governor, there has been a lot of shady effort put out to fill the deputy governor position within the organization.
The APC PMDM Youth and Support Groups welcome the notion of a COOCIN-COCIN ticket for the party in the general elections and are not opposed to it in the overall interest of plateau state. Our main goal is for Plateau to be successful regardless of platform or affiliation.
The committee claimed that after weighing a number of advantages and disadvantages, they had come to the decision that Dan Manjang would be the best running mate for the APC governorship candidate.
As concerned Plateau state, APC, and Northern Plateau stakeholders, we have thought carefully about the relevant issues and have come to the conclusion that the best deputy gubernatorial candidate for the APC should be a distinguished public servant with the ability to bring together the diverse ethnic and religious groups in Plateau North in particular and the state as a whole.
Due to the fact that the APC's nominee for governor, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, is from the Plateau Central zone, we believe that such a candidate is required to bring balance to the APC gubernatorial ticket. A candidate from the Plateau North should be selected as the APC's deputy gubernatorial candidate since that is the sensible course of action.
In light of this and the current situation, the APC PMDM Youth and Support Groups would like to inform the public that Hon. Daniel Manjang has received the party's endorsement as its deputy candidate for governor. Our argument rests on the fact that Hon. Daniel Manjang is a unifier and a bridge-builder, as demonstrated by the numerous contributions he has made to Plateau state, even while serving as the state's commissioner for information.
"Hon. Dan Manjang, with his extensive expertise and commanding credentials, speaks volumes about his dedication to the sustainable growth and development of the Plateau. The several offices he has held throughout the years bear witness to this.
Hon. Ezekiel Daniel Dalyop, a Riyom Local Government Area native who also spoke, attested that Dan Manjang is well-established in Riyom and the Northern Zone and has the political know-how to unseat the PDP.
He claimed that since the PDP chose Riyom as their running mate, the APC should logically consider the information commissioner for the position in order to win over the Northern zone.
The Information Commissioner, according to Mohammad Abdulkadir, Special Assistant to Governor Simon Lalong on ICT, is the most qualified and suitable individual in the Northern zone whose cap fits.
