NPP Kick Against Group Endorsement of El-Rufai

A Non-Political group known as Northern People's Project (NPP) has kicked against the purported endorsement of Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai as the All Progressive Congress(APC), vice presidentialby the Tinubu Support Organization as it will hinder the party's chances of winning the 2023 presidential election.

Reacting to a press conference addressed the Director General of Tinubu Support Organization (TSO), Aminu Suleman endorsing Mallam El-Rufai as the APC vice presidential candidate, NPP urged Ahmed Bola Tinubu to ignore the purported endorsement of El-Rufai as Suleiman and his group are merely seeking for relevanceand financial gains at the detriment of unity and progress of Nigeria.

The Publicity Secretary of NPP, Comrade Yohanna Jatau advised APC and Tinubu to ignore anybody or group promoting the idea of Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket as it will not only leads to the party's defeat but will cause serious disunity among Nigerians.

The group hinted that the only Muslim-Christian presidential ticket can guarantee the party's victory in the 2023 presidential election and as such anybody or persons endorsing El-Rufai as Tinubu's running mate are agents of disunity and enemies of Tinubu's presidential ambition.

The NPP quoted the former Special Adviser to Governor El-Rufai on Islamic Matters and Hajj, Sheikh Haliru Abduallahi Maraya as describing promoters of Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian presidential ticket as those who do not mean well for Nigeria, particularly now that the country appeared to be divided along religion lines.

NPP's statement advised Tinubu and APC to maintain the old tradition of either Christian-Muslim or Muslim-Christian ticket and ignore any purported endorsement of El-Rufai as it negatively affects the fortune of Tinubu's presidential ambition.

The statement further accused El-Rufai of clearly and openly demonstrating his hatred for Christians in Kaduna when for the first time he introduced the negative idea of Muslim-Muslim ticket and forced the idea on Kaduna people and warned against the introduction of such idea on Nigerians as the people will vehemently reject the idea.

NPP further accused Elrufai of influencing the retention of his deputy, Hajiya Hadiza Sabuwa as the running mate of Sen Sani Uba, APC's gubernatorial candidate in the state saying the action of El-Rufai has painted him as someone who takes delight in seeing that the country further divided along religion lines rather than uniting the country.
