PETER AND ANNA BAWA MULTI MILLION NAIRA ULTRA MORDERN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL KWANDE QUA’AN-PAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.


The Multi Million Naira ultra modern Peter and Anna Bawa Memorial Hospital, Kwande in Qua'an-Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State is to commence full operations in October 2022.


Consequently, preparatory to the full take off, the Management of the Hospital said it will start a test run of services in September this year.



The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Duncan Group of Companies, Dr Godfrey Bawa Shitgurum, MON, disclosed this in Kwande on Saturday June 11, 2022 after he led his management team and medical personnel to an inspection tour of the facilities in the hospital.


Dr Shitgurum, who is the Noetsen ( Wusai) of Kwo Chiefdom, disclosed that the hospital was built by one of their outfit, the Peter Bawa and Anna Foundation as a way of giving back to the people of the community and it's environs.

He said once operational, the 50 beds hospital, comprising of 6 male and female Wards in addition to Children and Maternity wards is expected to have 3 doctors and other essential professional personnel to run it.


Collaborating the GMD/CEO, Miskoom Larry Peters Bawa, the Goena (Barade) of Kwo Chiefdom, informed the team that equipment, drugs and most of the essential materials for the take off are already in place.

He commended the medical team for ensuring that the hospital is of international standards and urged them not to relent in meeting all the necessary requirements before the October 2022 commencement date.


He disclosed that the idea behind the establishment of the hospital was based on the philosophy of the Foundation to provide " modern health facilities for underserved rural areas", adding that the provision of such services will assist in ending "unnecessary deaths and suffering " of the people within the area.

Miskoom Bawa opined that apart from the provision of medical services, the establishment of hospital will create jobs, boost the economy of the area as well open other opportunities that will better the lives of members of the community and it's environs.

Speaking on behalf of the medical team, Dr Benedict Baamshal Mairiga commended the Duncan Group of Companies and Peter Bawa and Anna Foundation for it's commitment towards the project.



He assured them of prudent management of personnel and resources, adding that the best hands would be recruited to meet the standards, vision and mission of the hospital.

Some of the major facilities available at the hospital include  Ultrasound scan, ECHO and EGG. Laboratories, Ambulance and mortuary, while the services to be rendered include medical, surgical,  maternity,  neonatal and other specialized care.

The Management further disclosed that it would make available radiological and other facilities recommended by the medical team  before the October commencement date.
