PLHA SPEAKER CONDEMNS MURDER OF NAMANG, PLATEAU APC SPOKESPERSON.
The Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabriel K. Dewan received with rude shock the recent killing of our brother, the Plateau State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Sylvanus Namang in Pankshin on the 18th of February 2024 at a shop and the shop owner Mr Sunday Okonko (Sunny-Best) a peace-loving Igbo businessman within the neighbourhood of the unfortunate event. He prayed for their souls and those of others faithfully departed to rest in peace with the Lord, Amen.

The deceased Mr Namang was a gentleman and a hardworking person who had served the State and Nigeria meritoriously in both public and private capacities.
The Speaker, on behalf of the Honourable Members and staff of the Plateau State House of Assembly wish to condole the deceased family, Mwaghavul nation, All Progressive Congress and the entire people of Plateau State on this great loss.

While praying for the repose of their souls to find rest with the Lord, the Rt. Hon. Speaker appeals to the general public to refrain from actions or political utterances that may mislead law enforcement agencies from carrying out their investigative endeavours to bring the culprit to face the full wrath of the law.

The Rt. Hon. Speaker assures Plateau citizens that the Legislators and the Executive are partnering together to end the repeat of such barbaric, inhumane and dastardly acts in the State and to bring the perpetrators to book.

The Speaker emphasised that Plateau State citizens should remain law abiding and report any move capable of truncating the peace in the State to security agencies cautioning the need for everyone to be vigilant.

Signed:
Rt. Hon Gabriel K. Dewan
Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly.
19th February, 2024.
