JOS PRISON JAIL BREAK: ESCAPEE ABUBAKAR MOHAMMED,ALIAS BUBA, RE-ARRESTED, POINTED AT JETHRO NGUSEN AS MASTERMIND OF JAIL BREAK.

Escapee Abubakar Mohammed, Alias Buba, the co-principal witness in the kidnap and murder of Pa Dafwan Dariye, the father of the former Governor Of Plateau State, Sen Joshua Chibi Dariye and one of the king-pins of the Jos Prison break has been arrested in Daffo Market of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State on Monday 11th September,2023 at about 1:00pm (13:00hrs) following a reliable intel.
The Escapees of the Jos Correctional Centre jail break and one of the king- pins of the jail break, Abubakar Mohammed, Alias Buba was arrested by the officers of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Plateau State Command.
On Interrogation after his re- arrest on Wednesday 14th September, 2023 Abubakar Mohammed, Alias Buba voluntarily confessed to have been deeply involved in the kidnap and murder of Pa Dariye. He said they were eight in number that planned, kidnapped and murdered Pa Dariye. He listed their names as Abubakar Mohammed, Alias Buba, Yau, Jethro, Mangut, Dauda, Sunday, Titus and Jerry. He said after the first arrest ,they were taken to Kaduna, Abuja and then to Jos to face trial for kidnapping, murder and culpable homicide.
When asked what happened before, during and after the jail break at the Jos Correctional centre,Akias Buba confessed that they were getting information from the outside of prison through Baba Jethro Ngusen, who is always receiving visitors. Buba also said they get information from inmates like Habibu, Muhammad’s, Dauda, Sunday and Mangut who were always receiving visitors.
The re arrested escapee Abubakar Mohammed, Alias Buba confessed that Jethro Ngusen was the one that informed him that there will be jailbreak and that when he hears explosions, stampede or any thing unusual, he should runaway because as the principal witness, when he runs away the matter will end. He said Jethro Ngusen gave him N1,500 to use as transport money for run to his village in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State when there is jail break.
Abubakar Mohammed, Alias Buba also informed the IRT that he is aware that Habibu and Muhammadu have Ak47s and ammunition for their operations in Plateau,Bauchi, Kaduna,Abuja and Nasarawa. He said while Habibu is in Miango,Bassa LGA,Muhammadu is at Tanti, Dusten Ruku,Bokkos LGA.
Abubakar Mohammed, Alias Buba also confessed that he had four other kidnap and robbery operations in Lafia, Plateau and Nasarawa after the jail break before he was re arrested in Daffo market with a stolen phone.
He confessed that they were two when they were arrested in Daffo Market with one Hashimu. He said while Hashimu had military camouflage on him , he,Buba was wearing a police mask on his face.
You will recall that the said Abubakar Mohammed, Alias Buba was standing trial for the murder of Pa Dariye, the father of the former Governor of Plateau State who was kidnapped on the 17th of June, 2020 at his residence in Horop Village,Mushere of Bokkos LGA.
The kidnappers of Pa Dariye had demanded and were paid a ransom of N10m, however, they resfused to release the deceased, Pa Dariye.The deceased whose corpse was later found buried in a shallow grave in a forest in Bokkos LGA of Plaeau State.
Recall also that the late Adagwom Adara and his wife were kidnapped along Kachia Kaduna road close to Maikado village.
Officers of the IRT in Kaduna while investigating the kidnapping and killing of Agwom Adara in Kaduna State discovered that members of Mustapha Mohammed gang confessed that the same gang were involved in the kidnapping and killing of Pa Dafwan Dariye. They also confessed that they have gang members in Bauchi, Kaduna and Plateau States who operated as a syndicate of kidnappers, bandits and armed robbers.

Recall also that the team of IRT went to Jos and later to Bokkos, took two surveillance men who took the IRT to Bokkos.
Mustapha at the IRT led us to Bokkos and Buba on sighting Mustapha wanted to run away but was chased and arrested at Gada Biyu Daffo.
Buba confessed to the series of kidnapping, robbery and homicide.He also confessed to terrorizing Kaduna, Bauchi, Plateau and Nasarawa States.
Recall also that Pa Dariye was kept in Hwok Forest for 8 days and they collected ransom of N10m.Before then, Buba confessed that his Master Yau also known as Alias Yau Kaban,travelled from Abuja to Jos to Bokkos and started tracing Yau in Horop. Buba showed Yau but on sighting the Police, he attempted to escape but was arrested. He also confessed to kidnapping, robbery, cattle rustling and homicide.He mentioned Titus Ezekiel , Dauda Isa, who mentioned Sunday Elisha Ibrahim, Mangut Shummar, Henry Amos Dickbit and the master minder of the Kinapp,collaboration of ransom and the murder, Jethro Ngusen. He masterminded the kidnapping of Pa Dafwan Dariye.
Recall also that after investigation, the matter was charged/arraigned at Jos High Court before Justice Kamyal on 26th November 2021.
They were remanded at Jos Correctional centre same day of 26th November 2021 an unknown person was giving information to them in prison.
After the arrest of Buba,it was learnt that while Jethro Ngusen was in the prison facility, he received information from outsiders on the security situation of the plan.
In a twist there was a jail break on the 28th of November 2021, two days after they were remanded at the Jos Custodial Centre and Abubakar Mohammed escaped during the jail break.
The prosecution team had to amend the charge to reflect 7 defendants instead of eight following the escape of Abubakar Mohammed, Alias Buba.
In a very positive and dramatic development, Buba has been re-arrested after about 22 months in Daffo Market on Monday 11th of September 2023.
Buba while speaking to members of the IRT voluntarily confessed to how he escaped through the assistance of Ngusen Jethro who gave him the sum of N1500 and told him to escape by running away anytime he noticed an unusual movement and breakdown of law and order in the Jos Correctional Centre.
Recall that the NewsGate Magazine once reorted that the Plateau State Ministry of Justice has petitioned the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the "A" Division of the Plateau State Police Command, Jos dated 15th August,2023 with Ref No MOJ/PS/LEG copying the Comptroller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Plateau State Command, the Registrar, High Court,West of Mines, Plateau State High Court of Justice to as a matter of urgency public interest, security of complainants and Justice, "Request for Investigation Status Report of Jethro Ngusen ( An Inmate) Remanded in Jos Custodial Centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service."
The NewsGate Magazine is following the case of the Ministry of Justice in prosecuting Jethro Ngusen alongside six (6) other defendants in charge of No. PLD/1203C/2021 The People of Plateau State V. Ya'u Saidu Alias Ya'u Kaban and 6 others for the offences of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and murder, in the Plateau State High Court of Justice sitting at West of Mines,Jos before Hon Justice G. D Fwomyom.
Our esteemed readers would recall that the NewsGate Magazine reported that the defendants have all been Remanded at the Jos Custodial Centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service pending trial following the order of the Honourable court.
According to the petition to the DPO of "A" Division as obtained by the NewsGate Magazine hinted that information before the Ministry of Justice, Plateau State, Jethro Ngusen, an inmate remanded in custody of the Jos Correctional Centre was arrested by security operatives from the "A" Division of the Nigeria Police, Plateau State on the 31st July , 2023 in a bank when he went to withdraw money and the attention of the "A" Division was drawn to the fact from the bank leading to Jethro Ngusen's arrest by your team of officers.
The petition said the action of the 'A' Division has raised concerns about the potential escape, compromise, misuse of privileged or unauthorized activities in light of the charges of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and murder of Pa Dariye Defwan against the defendants .
The NewsGate Magazine investigation revealed that the petition from the MOJ to the DPO of 'A' Division demanded to know the following:
a. Investigation Status: An update on the current status of the investigation into Jethro Ngusen's activities at the bank.
b. Charges: The Charge or First Information Report (FIR) that has been filed against Jethro Ngusen as a result of his presence at the bank and having escaped from the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
c. Evidence: All available evidences, statements or documentation related to the incident at the bank.
d. Legal proceedings: Information about any Legal Proceedings, Court Appearances or Hearings Scheduled for Jethro Ngusen in connection with this incident.
e. Jethro Ngusen's where about and if granted bail by your office, the particulars of his sureties.
NewsGate Magazine reveals that the defendant, Jethro Ngusen uses his contacts particularly those he influenced their recruitments into the Nigeria Correctional Service, Immigration, Civil Defense other paramilitary organizations to put pressure on Judicial Officers, Correctional Officers, Nigeria Police Officers and Staff of the Ministry of Justice to bend the law in his favor. It is also alleged that Jethro Ngusen is using both spiritual and physical wars to his advantage, hence,the call for speedy trial so that the long arms of the law and justice will take its course.
NewsGate Magazine investigations revealed that complainants and family of the late Pa Dariye Defwan, father of Senator Joshua C Dariye,the former Governor of Plateau State are traumatized and pained at the attempt to deny them Justice via delay and conspiracies since Justice delayed is Justice denied.It was learned that Jethro Ngusen comes to court in different vehicles in mufty while the other defendants come in uniforms with custodial officials.
The matter before Hon.Justice G.D.Fwomyou has been adjourned to the 3rd,4th and 5th October, 2023 for continuation of hearing.
Recall that matter was before Hon Justice Kamyal but due to pressure, the case file was returned to the Chief Judge's office and later transferred to the present Judge where the case was started afresh.
All attempts to speak to the DPO "A" Division and the Comptroller of the Jos Correctional Centre proved abortive whilst the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer told the NewsGate Magazine that he is not aware of the matter.
The NewsGate Magazine investigation recently learnt that the Nigeria Correctional Service Headquarters, Abuja has delved into the serious security breach where an inmate, Jethro Ngusen was arrested at a Bank in Jos.
The NewsGate Magazine also learnt that the Comptroller of the Jos Correctional Centre was transferred to Nasarawa State for dereliction of duty.
Similarly officers concerned with the day to day rooster of inmates sanctioned and the officer who purportedly took Jethro Ngusen to the bank was arrested and his statement taken.
Further investigations are ongoing.
