QUA’AN-PAN COUNCIL TO RECONSTRUCT COLLAPSED TURNIANG, LANKAKU BRIDGES


The Management of Qua’an-Pan LGC of Plateau State, has concluded arrangements for the construction of the collapsed Turniang and Langkaku Bridges in Kwande and Namu Districts, respectively.

The Executive Chairman Qua’an-Pan LGC, Hon. Ernest Abner Da’a, represented by the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Helen Henniet Wapmuk, disclosed this on Monday July 4, 2022, during an inspection tour of the collapsed bridge linking Kwande and Turniang towns of the Local Government.

The Council Boss, further explained that since major part of the bridge has been washed away; there is the need for the the Council to reconstruction it.

“As a Council, we have priority for the welfare and economic development of our people, so, the reconstruction work will commence in earnest, in order to ameliorate the suffering of the people due to the collapse of the bridge', she said.

“Similarly, arrangement is being made by the Council for the reconstruction of the Langkaku Bridge that collapsed


almost at the same time,” Hon. Wapmuk added.

She described the collapsed of the two bridges in the Council ilas a set back to the Area, because the affected communities form part of the agricultural and commercial hub centres of the local government.

The Council appealed to the people within the area to exercise patience and support government in her quest to harness human and capital resources for effective service delivery for the general good.


The Deputy Chairman was accompanied on the the visit by the Supervisory Councilor for Works, Hon. Jafaru Chindo Usman and the Media Team to the Executive Chairman.

  1. This will be a commendable feat if it comes to fruition. One only hopes it wont be one of those political statement to woo the people for votes. Langkaku has been in this situation for decades and only relies on community effort.
