QUA’AN-PAN COUNCIL CHAIRMAN INSPECTS ONGOING PROJECTS, TASKS CONTRACTORS ON TIMELINE

The Executive Chairman Qua’an-Pan LGC, Hon. Ernest Abner Da’a has emphasized the significance of  meeting timelines in the execution and completion of projects by contracting firms.

Hon Da'a laid the emphasizing on Thursday July 28, 2022 during an inspection tour of the construction of a Police Divisional Office complex in Namu and the reconstruction work on the collapsed bridge linking Namu town and Langkaku village.

The Chairman reinstated the Council's priority towards the welfare, security of lives and property of the people; stating that  because of the huge sums committed for the completion of the projects, the contractors have  two months to complete them.

“The Council has priority for the welfare and economic development of our people. Surveillance and other security reports have identified some parts of Namu District as the ‘den of criminals', which became necessary for us to secure the establishment and citing of a Police Divisional Office in Namu District, as the security of lives and property of the citizens is of topmost priority.” the Chairman said.

Hon Da'a stated that, " despite the lean resources at our disposals, we had to put a hold on some of the already  earmarked projects and programmes of the QP Project administration, in order to channel them towards the ongoing projects”.

The Council Boss further appealed to the people to learn to appreciate and support  the quest of the local authority to harness human and capital resources for effective service delivery for their general good.

At the time of the unscheduled inspection, the level of work at the proposed Police Divisional Office was approximately 70% completion, while that of the Langkaku road bridge was about 50%.

The Executive Chairman was accompanied on the visit by his deputy, Hon. Helen Henniet Wapmuk, the Secretary to the Council Hon. Gideon Godenaan Dashe and some Cabinet members.
