Governorship 2023: Hon. Caleb Mutfwang Wins PDP Governorship seat

The undefeated vision leader Hon. Caleb Mutfwang, the Gubernatorial Aspirant in Plateau State, emerges Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship flag bearer for 2023 general election.

The dexterous fellow pulled 252 votes defeating Hon. Wungak Kefas, who got 113 votes at the primary election in Jos, Plateau State.

Governorship Aspirants in Plateau State PDP Primaris, 2022 included:

1. Hon. Caleb Mutfwang 252, 

2. Chief Wungak Kefas 113, 

3. Mr. Dapal Alfred Ali 92, 

4. Chief Dauda Wuritka Gotring 88, 

5. Chief Jonathan Sunday Akuns 16, 

6. Chief Satu Jatau Jewin 9, 

7. Nde David Shikdu Parradang 4, 

8. Prof. Shedrack Best Gaya 4,  

9. Brig. Gen. John Sunday Sura (Rtd) 3 votes, 

10. Dr. Mazadu Bako 3 votes, 

11. Mr. Alexander Bitrus Landan 2, 

12. Amb. Hirse Bagudu Mutle 1, 

13. Mr. Ephraim Lenka Dewa 0.

Four Aspirants, Mr. Jack Yakubu Pam, Dr. Timothy Golu Simon, Pastor Vincent Alfred Nanle, Chief Letep Mwelbish Dabang, stepped down from the contest.

Started from Wase, 38 delegates were accredited: Langtang North. Accredited 43. Langtang South 31. Mikang 30. Qua'an Pan Local Government 34. Shandam 33. Barkin Ladi 34. Basa 49. Jos East 30. Jos North 40. Jos South 34. Riyom 31. Bokkos 43. Kanke 19. Pankshin 36. Mangu 45. Kanam 34, total votes cast 601, while 8 void votes were recorded.


Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) And journalist were on ground to monitor the exercise as mandated by the law. The Chairman of the Panel, Bode Ogunmola, expressed happiness at the successful conduct of the Plateau State PDP primary election.

In his acceptance speech, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang discribed his victory as the hand of God and the dawn of another age of glory for PDP in Plateau State.
