APPRECIATION ON THE SUCCESSFUL HOSTING OF 2022 ILUM OTAROK ON 14TH MAY, 2022

First of all, I wish to appreciate the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, for honoring the Tarok Nation by his personal presence at the just concluded Ilum O’Tarok Day held on 14th May, 2022 at Langtang Mini Stadium. The Governor’s participation contributed, in no small measure, to the overall success of the event. 

I also thank the Chairman of the Day and Elder statesman,  in the person of Air Mashal Jonah Wuyep (Retired), the Chairlady of the Occasion Hon. (Mrs.) Rebecca Adar Sambo, Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Plateau State, the Royal Father of the Day, HRH Dr. Usman Bilyaminu Othman, Emir of Dass, the Chief Launcher, Distinguished Senator Hezekia Dimka and the Guest Speaker, Rev. Prof. Pandang Yamsat, for the respective roles they all-played which ensured a successful outing for the Tarok Nation.


My appreciation also goes to Distinguished Senator (Professor) Dame Nora Ladi Dadu’ut, the Senator representing Plateau Southern Senatorial zone, Hon. Beni Butmak Lar, the Member Representing Langtang North and Langtang South in National Assembly, Dame Pauline Tallen, Hon. Minister for Women Affairs, Head of Civil Service, Plateau State, Honourable Commissioners, Gubernatorial Aspirants in Plateau State, ALGON and Chairmen of Langtang North and South Local Government Councils for their support both before and during the celebration. 

Our Tarok Elder Statesmen in the persons of Rev. Canon Selcan Miner and Senator Jeremiah Timbut Useni deserve special mention for their untiring support, advise and mentoring in Tarok land. 


I wish to further appreciate the Tarok Joint Traditional Council led by HRH, Nimnan Langnim, Ponzhi Zinni as and Acting President, as well as HRH, Chief Lot Nden, Ponzhi Kadarko, Members of the NIO National Executive Council, the National Central Working Committee of NIO, Tarok Elders Forum, NIO Chapters, NIO Women Wings, Tarok Professionals, and other similar bodies, Tarok Lawyers Forum for their tremendous support and contribution to the Tarok Day. Of course, the Chairman and members of the Central Planning Committee who worked tirelessly deserve special appreciation. Not to be forgotten are our religious leaders who, day and night, prayed for unity and progress in the Tarok Nation. 

Thank you all. 


But above all, I appreciate all Tarok sons and daughters, young and old, and all our guests from far and wide, who trooped out in unprecedented numbers to be part and parcel of the momentous occasion. 

I appreciate you all for the sacrifices you made that led to success of the day. 

As we collectively look forward to more progress and unity in Tarok Land, May God continue to bless and protect us all. Ameen.

A 3-man panel of Judges of the Tribunal, led by Hon. Justice Cordelia Ogadi upheld that there is no any substantial evidence before the tribunal that senator Mwadkwon forged First School Leaving Certificate and the West African School Certificate.

THE LONG GAMAI OF GAMAI NATION, HRH MISKOOM MARTIN MUDU'UTRIE SHALDAS III, HAS ADVOCATED FOR A MORE ROBUST MEANS OF UNITY AMONG THE SUB GAMAI GROUP

The Long Gamai of Gamai Nation, HRH Miskoom Martin Mudu'utrie Shaldas III, has advocated for a more robust means of unity among the sub Gamai groups. Miskoom Shaldas III, made the call on Sunday October 27, 2024; when the Chairman Board of Trustees of the Gamai Bible Translation and Gamai Literacy Project, Nda Noetsen Kevin Kwaplong, led members of the Board and the organizers of Dedication, Presentation and Launching of the Gamai Bible and Literacy Project after the Thanksgiving Mass, organized by the Central Working Committee, led by Nda Kurnajam Joseph Ari; held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Shendam, Plateau State.
