GOVERNOR LALONG PRAISES THE CHAIRMAN OF JOS NORTH LGC FOR PROMOTING RELIGIOUS HARMONY IN THE LOCALITY



Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has praised the leadership style of the Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Usman in  promoting religious harmony and peaceful coexistence among  the two major faiths  in the area.

Governor Lalong gave the commendation at the Jos North  Unity breaking of Ramadan fast held at the Council Secretariat in Jos.



The 2022 Jos North Unity Breaking of Ramadan Fast  organized by Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Usman brought together the two major faiths  to further strengthen the bond of  peace, love and unity among the citizens of the area.

Governor Simon Lalong represented by  Secretary to the Government of the State Professor Danladi Atu, said he has always admired Shehu Bala Usman's  style of governance and used the occasion to appeal to citizens to pray for Nigeria as the general election is at the corner.

Lalong assured  the people of the State of his Administration's readiness to  complete and commission the British- American interchange road network before the end of his administration.

Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Usman who was   flanked by his wife Farida, explained that the Unity Breaking of Ramadan Fast is an annual programme initiated by his administration to reinforce harmonious relationship between people of  the two major faiths in the area.

The Chairman told Governor Lalong that he  has stepped down the peace building mechanism introduced by the Leader of the Rescue Team to the citizens in other to restore confidence and trust in his locality.

Chairman JNI Plateau State Dr Muhammadu Sambo, represented by Lawan Ishaq, his  CAN counterpart  Reverend Father Polycard Lubo as well as the local CAN Chairman  Father Polycard Gana commended the initiative.

Present at the Unity Breaking of Ramadan Fast are the state Commissioner of Transport Mohammad Abubakar, APC Chairman of Jos North Local Government Sani Gangare, former Management Committee Chairman of the Council Theresa Azi,  Deputy Chairman Ezekiel Shina Agada, Leader of the Legislative Arm Yakubu Atsen, elected Councillors as well as political appointees of Jos North Local Government Council.


Special prayers were offered for permanent peace in Jos North, Plateau State as well as the country by the CAN Chairman Reverened Father Polycarp Lubo.
