Riyom Local Government Secretariat witnessed an unprecedented number of people as newly appointed Secretary, Chief of Staff, Director General Research and Documentation and seven Supervisory Councillors were sworn-in.
The occasion drew scores of officials, stakeholders and supporters of the All Progressives Congress, illustrious sons and daughters of the Local Government area, including staff of the Council who joined the Executive Chairman to ensure the occasion was celebrated in a befitting atmosphere.
Chairman of the Council, Hon. Mafeng Gwallson charged the appointees to play their part in the realization of his administration’s vision for the people of the Local Government Area.
Gwallson said the revalidation of his mandate depends on their performance, hence teamwork must be their watchword as this would help his administration achieve more goals.
The Council Chairman told them that their appointment is to add value to the present administration in the Local Government and anyone found wanting, would be shown the way out.
The members sworn- in are; Hon. Davou Dambo as Secretary to the Council, Hon. Pam Nyango as the Chief of Staff, while Hon. David Dalyop was sworn in as Director General Research and Documentation.
Others are; Hon. Danzaria Juliana as Supervisory Councilor (Education), Hon. Choji Habila (Primary Health Care), Hon. Danchilik John (Budget), Hon. Ngyang Jaba ( Water and Sanitation), Hon. David Mafeng (Special Duties), Hon. Dangyang Mangai (Agriculture and Natural Resources), Hon. Bep Davou Mwanti (Works), while the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Hon. Elisha Yakubu takes charge of the Social Services Department.
Administering the oath of office, Chief Magistrate, Riyom, Hon. Yenkat Anthony charged the appointees to abide by the oath in which they were sworn in to contribute their quota towards the development of the Local Government Area.
Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Riyom Local Government Area, Hon. Gideon Ntoy said their appointment is the confirmation the people of Riyom have for them and urged them to support the Council Chairman to enable him to succeed.
Commissioner for Information, Dan Manjang urged the appointees to see their emergence as an opportunity to serve the people and to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Manjang urged the appointees and the entire citizens of the Local Government to continue to rally round the administration of Governor Simon Lalong to enable them to achieve more dividends of democracy.
Ata’a Aten of Ganawuri, Yakubu Chaimang advised the Secretary and other appointees to see their appointments as an opportunity to contribute their wealth of experience towards the growth and development of Riyom Local Government Area.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, the newly sworn-in Secretary, Hon. Davou Dambo pledged to join hands with the Chairman to impact positively on the lives of the people and add value to the instrumentality of the Chairman in the Local Government Area.
