It is with great pleasure that i welcome you all to this auspicious soccer tournament tagged: ‘KOMSOL UNITY CUP 2021' which is organised

for 40 Grass-root ward teams across the constituency (Mikang/Quaan-

pan/Shendam) represented by my humble self.

The Aim of this tourÅ‹ament is not far fetch as the name implies ‘Komsol

Unity Cup'emanating from my conscious desire to reunite and strengthen the bound between our communities that have existed and shared socio-ethnic cultures for almost a century now, that despite our existing challenges and grievances we will still have reasons to socialise and smile at each other.

More so, this tournament is meant to remobilize the teaming hard

working, energetic youths within my constituency, to showcase their

exceptional talents and apply their energy positively especially in these

perilous times where we observe untamed insecurity in different parts of the country as a result of youth restiveness.

The game of Football has proven unequivocally to achieved unity

effortlessly even amongst a multi-ethnic nation like ours, where people

young and old sheath their differences, laugh and shake hands in support of either Plateau United, Arsenal, Chelsea or our National team without asking whether it's Pan, Goemai, Youm, Piapung, Kanoem or Tehl, a Muslim or Christian who is playing.

Our invited guest, Ladies and gentle and members of the press as I herein

kick-off the tournament started with the opening Match, it will interest

you to know the final Prizes involved which is as follows:

- 1st Position - A Sharon Car

-2nd Position - A Tri-Cycle Popularly known as Keke Napep

-3rd Position - Boxer Motor-Cycle

The foregoing prizes are set out for us to increase the competition amongst the 40 teams, and as sports people there must definitely be a

winner and a loser but we must all imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship in

the process, to be joyful with the winners and encourage those who

loss out. Therefore I Appeal to us to maintain our support for our various

teams and avoid any distraction or external instigators and focus on the

final prize

In conclusion, I wish to appreciate the Executive Governor of Plateau

State, (a very good footballer I know in his prime young days) the

Ministry of Youths and Sports Development and all stakeholders here present (numerous to mention) for your exceptional support. And as we anticipate your kind support through the tournament, please remain Blessed

To our gallant security personnel here present or expected through the

tournament, I appreciate your sacrifice and your constant corporation.

It is my sincere believe that your presence can help us achieve this

tournament peacefully and successfully. Therefore I appeal to our

teaming youths to please corporate with our security to ensure the smooth

sail of the tournament. This is just one amongst other plethora of youth

friendly events that is outlined for our good constituents but the success

of one will definitely open up another.

I herein Kick-off this game to the glory of God and the Development

of Humanity.

Long live the youths of Mikang/

Shendam/Quan-pan Constituency!
