KILLINGS: WHY LALONG CANT TACKLE MENACE WITHOUT FG SUPPORT

Killings: Why Lalong can't  tackle menace without FG Support

A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC in Plateau Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga has called for concerted efforts to end the killings and wide spread of violence in the State.

Speaking during an emergency stakeholders in Jos South LGA  the Plateau State capital in response the recent killings in Jos Nirth and other part of the State, Zazzaga said the Federal Government  as a matter of urgency should wade into the lingering crises in Plateau State by providing timely interventions like relief materials and to deployed security agencies to crises and flash point area.

He said it is a known fact that State Governors does not control security apparatus in their various states as head of security agencies do not take directives or command from them, and the Plateau case is not different in this regard .

" In a situation where state governors who want to tackle violence in their states have to  summoned all the security operative, but timely intervention will not come because the security heads will have to wait for order from above for them to act is not healthy for the nation.

"This is because before such order will be granted from above many lives must have been lost and property destroyed. That is why some individuals and bodies have been agitating for state policing and other legal community security outfits and network to protect their respective areas.

According to him, " This is why the Federal Government must raise up to the occasion and respond timely to distress calls from State Governors and other relevant quarters in a crises situation, so that the bureaucracy  in deploying security agent will not led to wanton loss of lives and property before their arrival otherwise their coming after the damage has been done is of no effect. "

The APC chieftain also commended Plateau State governor Barr. Simon Lalong for his effort to ensure lasting peace in the Plateau all this while, stressing since the re-occurance of violence in the state, the governor have been taken good steps to stop the violence from spreading and to be under control.

Meanwhile Zazzaga called on opposition parties and other politicians who are trying to use the present situation to fuel the violence and discredit the government to desist because you can not play politics with human lives.

He commented the Jos South youths for maintaining  calm and ensuring that the violence did not extend to Jos South adding that they mobilized the elders and youths to prevail on their wards to remain calm and not to take the law into their hands.
