PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES ADJUSTMENTS TO RESUMPTION DATES FOR SCHOOLS IN THE STATE.
The plateau state ministry of higher Education has announced resumption date for all Tertiary institutions in the state.
Commissioner of the ministry Kakmena Goteng Audu in a statement to that effect disclosed that tertiary institutions are to resume on the 18th of January 2021 inline with the position of the federal government Presidential task force on COVID 19. The commissioner directs all heads of tertiary institutions in the state to comply strictly to the resumption date and to also ensure that they adhere strictly to COVID 19 protocols already Established by government. Similarly the ministry of secondary Education has reversed its earlier announced date of resumption for primary and secondary schools in the state.
A statement which conveys the adjustment reveals that contrary to the earlier announced date of 4th of January 2021, the new date of resumption is the 18th of January 2021.
The statement signed by Director Schools of the ministry John Istifanus on behalf of the commissioner Elizabeth Wapmuk directed all zonal and area directors of schools to ensure strict compliance to the new date not undermining the COVID 19 Protocols already established. It apologised to parents and guardians for the mix up in the earlier announced.
