TRADE UNIONS SENSITISE MEMBERS ON CURRENT DEVELOPMENT 

State Officials of the all trade unions in the Local Government System in Plateau State have sensitised their members on current developments as it affects the negotiation for the implementation of the thirty thousand Naira minimum wage. 

The five unions whose local government chapter officials gathered at the Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT hall in ANGULDI ZAWAN in Jos south local government Area were told to ignore rumours making the round that their state chapter officials have compromised.

The five unions are the Nigeria union of Teachers, Nigeria union of local government employees, that of medical and health workers union, National Association of Nigeria Nurses and midwifes, and None Academic staff union in the primary Education system. 

Chairman of the joint sitting, and state chapter chairman of the Nigeria union of teachers, Gana Ayuba Was emphatic that they have remained resolute in pursuing what is due to their members . He disclosed that they have been In close negotiations with government since the agitation started. 

Gana noted that since October this year, they have sat with government representatives on many occasions and that there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. 
He explained to them that the point of contention now is the consequential adjustment for officials on grade level seven and above adding that for staff on level six down ward, government has agreed to meet their demand. 

On his part, the co-chairman of the the joint meeting, and chairman NULGE Yohana
Arandong aligned with the presentation of Gana and urged the local branch leaders and all members to keep faith alive adding that the times are indeed tough for them and assured success is on the way. 

The state exco of the five unions later moved to Barkin Ladi general hospital to commiserate with NUT and NASU officials of Mangu local government council who had a ghastly motor accident on their way to attend the Event.

The officials sympathised with the affected colleagues who sustained various degrees of injury and death.
