IZAM CHARGES STAFF TO WORK TOWARDS SECURING MASS COMM & GEOGRPAHY DEPTS FULL ACCREDITATION
Following the handing over of the Faculty of Social Sciences building to the management of the Plateau State University, Bokkos by Liskebe Konsult, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Yohana Daniel Izam has charged the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Paul Wai to put the structure into proper use in order to secure full accreditation of Mass Communication and Geography Departments.
It would be recalled that during the last accreditation exercise, Mass Communication and Geography departments failed to secure the accreditation and were slated for reexamination on a date to be announced by the National Universities Commission.
While handing over the Faculty to the Dean, Professor Paul Wai, Professor Izam charged him to ensure that the two programs of the University secure full accreditation during the next outing as it will go a long way in earning the confidence of Parents, guardians and students on the university’s Academic programs.
Izam assured the staff of the University that the state government is working hard to address the welfare needs of staff of the University and with delivery of this project, efforts should be made to fast-track the process of reopening of the University for academic activities.
Professor Izam disclosed that more projects will be commissioned next year while the ground breaking ceremony for Academic Affairs Block, General Studies, Faculty of Environmental Sciences workshops and Laboratories before the end of the year as well as equipping the laboratories and setting up of a brand new digital block production machine to enable the University fast track the completion of the fencing of the institution.
In his remarks, the Dean, Professor Paul Wai commended the Vice Chancellor for achieving such feat within a short time and assured the Vice Chancellor of his readiness to effectively use of the facility to secure the accreditation of programmes of Mass Communication and Geography departments.
