PAYMENT OF MINIMUM WAGE TO START IN OCTOBER HEAD OF SERVICE- IZAM AZI

Plateau state workers will start receiving the New Minimum Wage in October 2020, the Head of Civil Service on the Plateau Izam Azi has said.

The head of Civil Service who disclosed this while in an audience with Jat HotNews said; in his effort towards bettering workers salaries on the Plateau State, Governor Simon Lalong granted the approval for the commencement of the implementation of the New Minimum Wage in Plateau State starting from October 2020.

The Head of Service gave reasons for the delay in the payment of October, 2020 salaries, saying that initially the payment of salaries was to commence since March 2020, but the implementation of the New Minimum Wage and the COVID-19 pandemic, however delayed the commencement of implementation.

The head of civil service Mr. Izam Azi clear the air on the negotiations agreement with the government and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), said is yet to be fully conclude with the other aspects of negotiations with the (NLC) union.

The Plateau State Ministry Of Finance are already working on the modalities, Mr. Izam said he was impressed by the architecture's working on the modalities for the payment of October 2020 salaries designed by the plateau state ministry of finance
