STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON INFORMATION VISITS COMMISSIONER OF INFORMATION 
 
Member Representing Pankshin North in the Plateau State House of Assembly and Chairman House Committee on Information Philip Dasun says more need to be done on the issues sourounding Information dissemination to the populace about the achivements, policies and progrmes of the Rescue Administration. 
   
The lawmaker made the statement recently while on a familiarisation visit on the State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Dan Manjang at his office JD Gomwalk Secratariat, Jos.
 
He further stated that the basic reason why the Committee is in the Ministry is to discuss some basic fundamental responsibilities of the committee on Information,  adding that as Committee on Information they have the constitutional mandate to oversight the Ministry and the oversight is nothing but to ensure the needful is done in carrying out the stipulated activities of the Ministry and to ensure that whatever has been agreed on is carried out.
  
Hon Dasun, commended the Ministry of Information for ensuring that the adequate Information that is neccessary about the Rescue government is disseminated. He stated futher that in the area of the dreaded Covid-19  pandemic the Ministry has done well in sensitizing the Citizens.
  
The lawmaker enjoined the Ministry to intensify its efforts on educating the people on the gains and achievements of Government by sound propaganda.
  
Responding Hon.Commissioner of Information and Communication, Dan Manjang disclose that the 9th Assembly has been very suportive of the Rescue Administration irrespective of party diffrences. 
  
The Commissioner described Governor Lalong as the Governor of Plateau State and not just the Governor of the APC, he mentioned that the various road projects going on in the State is for everybody in the State and not just for any particular party or group of persons.
   
Manjang mantain that even with the few challenges confronting the Ministry, the Ministry has had some level of progress such as the restoration of the Plateau Publishing Cooperation which is presently  publishing the Nigerian Standard Newspaper twice a week and in no distant time it will become fully operational.
  
As for the Plateau Printing Press, Government has Installed a RAPIDO-105 Printing  Machine and it has been powerd, the Machine has the capacity to produce 17,0000 papers per hour he strees that training will soon be commence for the persons that will operate the Machine, he noted that with this development government has advice all MDA's not to Print government Gazate outside again.
 
While Plateau Radio Television Cooperation (PRTV) will focus on some level of training and provision of egiupments. He highlighted further that the State Libry Board will soon have a new face lift according to Manjang the SDG has written a memo to the Governor to build an E-Libry which will be located in a diffrent enviroment from where the present Libry is situated. The Commissioner described the relationship between Government and the Nigerian Union of Jounalist (NUJ) as cordail, he pointed out that government presence is presently seen on the renovation of work going in the NUJ Secratariat and in the nearest feature it will be fully eguipped and beftting . Manjang express gratitude to  the Committee for the visit assuring  them that the Ministry will not fail the State in Information dissemination.
