PRESS RELEASE: NASARAWA GWOM REACHES AGREEMENT TO CO-OPERATE WITH MINISTRY OF HEALTH FOR CONTACT TRACING
PRESS STATEMENT
Communities in Nasarawa Gwom of Jos North Local Government Area have agreed to cooperate with officials from the state Ministry of Health for contact tracing of suspected person with COVID 19 cases.
This was the outcome of the dialogue initiated by the special Committee with Community leaders to resolve the unauthorized restriction of officials in the area held at council chambers,in Jos
The special Committee set up to dialogue with Community and religious leaders as well as Youths groups in the area was Chaired by the deputy Chairman Muslims Community of Nasarawa Gwom Mohammed Danladi.
According to him, prior to the meeting, the committee has met with various groups on the danger of COVID 19 pandemic.
Deputy Director public Health in the Plateau state ministry of Health Martina Nuwan said the ministry of Health and other related partners organizations are ever ready to trace any person suspected to have contracted the Coronavirus pandemic.
Nuwan solicited the cooperate of stakeholders to join hands in the fight against the pandemic.
Chairman special Committee who is the Area commandant Nigeria police Area Command, Jos Usman Adamu said the summited report is a clear indication that the contact tracing of COVID 19 pandemic will help government reduce the spread of the virus.
Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Shehu Usman appreciated the committee for working so hard to ensure government achieve on its mandate.
Usman stressed his administration is working closely with the health professional to eradicate the COVID 19 pandemic in Jos North.
The Chairman advised citizens to observe all the protocol indicated by team of medical expert to have free Coronavirus pandemic in the area.
He challenge Traditional and religious leaders to sensitize the subject on the danger of the disease.
