PDP PLATEAU STATE INAUGURATES CARETAKER COMMITTEE.


The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, today 15, May, 2020 inaugurated it's new caretaker committee members to handle affairs of the party in the State, after  Exco Member Hon. Gwot Chocho tenure elapsed midnight Sunday 10, May, 2020. 

The newly inaugurated Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon. Nandom Penap Exodus in his acceptance speech made available to this medium signed by the Committee Secretary, Hon. Engr. Godwin W. Bedir,  disclosed that " As we all know, the tenure of Plateau State PDP Excos led by Hon. Gwot Chocho have since elapsed midnight Sunday 10, May, 2020, inline with section 47 (1) of the party constitution 2017 as amended where as the out gone Excos have served a tenure of four years. Upon the expiration of the past Excos tenure and base on the directives of the national working committee of our great party suspended the activities of the party inline with Government directives in trying to curtail the covid-19 pandemic which is rampaging the world, bringing to standstill the earlier planned PDP State Congresses. 

Furthermore, Hon. Penap said, as we are all aware, the out gone Excos are seeking reelection and can not continue or be appointed as caretaker committee base on section 31(2)(e) of the PDP constitution 2017 as amended, the out gone Excos lack moral standing as contain in sections above. 

For the avoidance of doubt, our leaders in their dynamic wisdom constituted a caretaker committee to oversee the party activities in the State pending the contentment of the corona-virus for a fresh date to be announce by the national working committee (NWC) for a befitting, free, fair, and credible Congresses in the State which can give and equal rights and opportunity to all members to participate without fear or favor.

The Chairman further disclosed that, these committee are carefully selected without bias or prejudice to the tenet of our party; this is to ensure unity of purpose and genuine reconciliation among party men and women. We advise all our members to close rank by supporting this committee to ensure sanity, tranquillity and oneness in the party. 

Hon. Penap also called on the out gone Excos, to know that the party under his watch appreciate their leadership, though there was lack of trust which led the party to disunity but you have contributed your quota either positively or negatively, we directed that you return all party properties in your possession to the party secretariat or face stiffer actions. 

The Chairman further call on all members to know that they are here to reform not to please anyone because they value what PDP stand for. And remain committed and loyal to the national leadership of the party, ably led by Chief Uche Secondus and his executives. 
The State newly inaugurated caretaker committee members are as follows:

1. Hon. Nandom Penap Exodus- State Chairman

2. Hon. Engr. Godwin W. Bedir- State Secretary

3. Hon. Akims Mamot James- State PRO

4. Hon. Mrs Asabe Dareng- State Woman Leader 

5. Hon. Nathanial Dakas- Member

6. Hon. Elder Jacob Dashe- Member

7. Hon. Alh. Kabiru Musa- Member.
