HON. SHEHU USMAN BALA THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN JOS NORTH DISTURBED AS COVID 19 CASES INCREASE IN JOS NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

Stakeholders in North Local Government of Plateau state have expressed serious worries at the increase rate of COVID 19 in Jos North Local Government.
The stakeholders made their feeling known during an emergency meeting which was summoned at the instance of the Management Committee Chairman of the Local Administration Hon.Shehu Bala Usman, held at the council chambers in Jos.
The meeting was presided over by the Management Committee Chairman who looked into the issue of the rapid spread of Covid 19 pandemic in Jos North Local Government and how to contain and fix it's spread.
The Chairman enumerated some of the efforts made by the council which included; Monitoring and Enforcement at the entry points to Jos from Bauchi, Provision of Palliatives to the less Privileged in the Community, Constituting a Sensitization Committee as well as Constituting a rapid response team.
Hon.Usman noted that Jos North has recorded the highest Number of Covid 19 Cases in Plateau State and stressed the need for stakeholders to close ranks to fight the pandemic together.
Hon.Usman used the occasion to commended the efforts and commitment by the committee set by His. Excellency the Executive Governor Plateau State in curtailing the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic.
He lamented a situation where people follow different entry points to Kano as unfortunate and prayed God to protect all citizens from the pandemic.
The State Commissioner For Special Duties and Non Governmental Affairs Hon. Irimiya Werr said most of the Cases Recorded in Plateau State came through the boarders despite the closure of the main entrance into Jos.
He added that traditional and religious leaders as well as Youth organisations must join hands with Government to identify any suspected case in their domain and to also identify new returnees from other states.
The Ujah of Anaguta Joro Magaji represented by Agwom Dauji assured the chairman of the traditional rulers support to create more awareness for their subjects about the deadly desease

Others stakeholders who spoke at the meeting includes; The Representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN,JNI .
